CART stands for Continuous Actionable Resource Triggers. It is an application designed to run in the cloud and detect issues with resource utilization, patient statuses and length of stay (LOS) as they arise in the hospital's electronic medical records.
The logic that powers our triggers has been developed by some of the most seasoned Physician Advisors in the field, and has been proven to significantly cut waste and create better patient outcomes.

Dr. Haering is one of the most experienced and respected Physician Advisors in the country.
One of his areas of expertise is in the area of resource management. In his work he consults hospitals on how to better manage cases and resources, often leading to millions of dollars in savings for the hospital.
He has a problem. Soon after he leaves a given hospital, all the efficiencies he put into place soon disappear, and the hospital is back to wasting millions of dollars.
He created SAPHUR Healthcare and the CART Monitoring platform to fix this problem. Providing an artificial form of himself running 24/7 looking for patterns in medical record data that indicate waste or misuse of resources and timely alerting those who can make quick positive changes
Widespread use of CART triggers could save the healthcare industy billions of dollars in waste.
Tech Guy
Jake has been an early stage technical member of several startups over the years in fields ranging from defense to building materials.
What caught his attention with this endeavor was the potential to raise the quality of healthcare while driving down costs. A win, win in his book.
Jake was looking for his next big opportunity when he met Jamie and Jennie and learned of their plans around building CART.
He's extremely excited to be working in the space and the potential this technology has.
Everything Else
With an MBA and a SCRUM master certification, Jennie is the perfect fit to round out the founding team.
She has a passion for approaching problem solving by incorporating whole systems solutions and sustainable design.
Whatever tasks don't fall under the work of the doctor or the tech guy, Jennie handles with grace and enthusiasm.
When she is not bringing order to the chaos of a young business, she enjoys working with children and LEGOs, which is really isn't much different than a tech startup when you think about it.
Do more with FHIR
Here's how it all works
Work directly with the SAPHUR team to identify goals of monitoring and identify related FHIR resources in a sandbox environment.
A trial period takes place where the CART monitors are silently running in the background. We use this trial period to ensure the proper alerts are firing.
Here we begin pushing active alerts out to managers through their preferred communication channels.
The CART team will continually collaborate to identify new trigger opportunities and fine tune old ones.
